Introducing the Wheatsheaf House Funds

A new chapter in how we manage your investments

We are proud to introduce two new IFSL Wheatsheaf House Funds, designed exclusively for Matthew Douglas clients. Two years in development, these funds have been built from the ground up around the needs of the people we look after. They are not an off-the-shelf product but a bespoke solution shaped by our experience of working with you.

Your relationship with Matthew Douglas stays exactly as it is. You will continue to receive the same personal financial planning service, with the same people who know you and your goals. What changes is the engine behind your portfolio.

The two funds will be combined to match your existing risk profile, giving you broader investment choice, more efficient administration and an additional layer of oversight on your investments.

The value of investments can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you originally invested.

What is changing?

Our Model Portfolio Service currently invests your money directly into a selection of underlying funds. Under the new approach, you will hold investments in one or both of the Wheatsheaf House Funds, which will hold the underlying investments on your behalf.

This is known as a “fund of funds” structure. It allows us to continue using the principles behind our existing portfolios while accessing a wider range of investments and improving how portfolios are managed.

The new funds will replace our existing DMDL model portfolios, with your agreement, and may also be used within bespoke portfolios.

What stays the same?

Your relationship with Matthew Douglas remains central to our service. You will continue to work with your financial planner and client servicing team, with advice shaped around your circumstances and long-term goals.

The combination of funds will be selected to match your existing risk profile. The move itself is not intended to change the level of investment risk you take.

Why are we making this change?

More responsive investment management

The new structure is designed to allow faster trading and reduce the time that parts of your portfolio spend out of the market when underlying investments change.

Broader investment choice

The funds can access investments that may be restricted within our existing model portfolios, including exchange traded funds, investment trusts and structured products. This creates more opportunities to diversify.

Opportunities to reduce costs

By bringing investments together within the funds, we can negotiate terms with underlying fund providers and seek further discounts as the funds grow. We expect overall costs to be lower for most clients, although the structure introduces additional management and administration charges.

Greater flexibility when managing tax

Changes to investments within the funds do not generally create an immediate personal Capital Gains Tax liability for you. Selling your own holdings in the funds may still have tax consequences. Your adviser will explain how the transition and ongoing arrangements relate to your circumstances.

Simpler administration and additional oversight

Fewer transactions can make contributions and withdrawals easier to manage. The structure also introduces additional oversight and is designed to reduce the scope for manual trading errors.

These are potential benefits, not guarantees of improved investment performance.

What should you consider?

Before you agree to move, your adviser will explain the implications for your portfolio, including:

  • Transition time: Your investments may be out of the market for a short period while the transfer takes place.
  • Charges: The structure includes additional investment management and fund administration costs, alongside anticipated savings elsewhere.
  • Tax: Selling existing holdings in a General Investment Account may create a Capital Gains Tax liability. A phased transition or retaining some existing holdings may be appropriate.
  • Reporting: Your platform will show the Wheatsheaf House Funds rather than each underlying investment. Separate information about the underlying holdings will be available.
  • Moving to another adviser: The funds are currently intended for Matthew Douglas clients. Leaving may require you to sell your holdings, which could have tax implications.

Your questions answered

The funds launched on 25 August 2026 and are scheduled to open for trading on 5 October 2026. Transfers will take place with your agreement.

Evelyn Partners will manage day-to-day investment decisions. Matthew Douglas will retain oversight as Sponsor and Co-Manufacturer, with Investment Fund Services Limited (IFSL) providing fund administration and oversight.

We expect total portfolio charges to be marginally lower for most clients. Your adviser will explain the charges applicable to your investments.

Updated factsheets and Key Investor Information Documents will be provided at your annual review and are available on request. Information about the underlying holdings can also be requested from your adviser.

Please speak to your financial planner. We can arrange a telephone or face-to-face appointment to discuss the proposal and what it means for you.
