The town of Nayland lies on the northern bank of the river Stour which
divides Essex and Suffolk and during the seventeenth century was a leading
centre of commerce for the wool and cloth trade of East Anglia.
In the twenty-first century we seek, at Matthew Douglas Limited, to revive
this tradition of enterprise and to make our town once again a centre of
excellence for those wishing to preserve their own hard won prosperity.
Life has moved on a pace in the last 400 years with fortunes big and
small created in other ways and with individuals seeking ways of preserving
their wealth and needing to reassess how to construct their affairs to the
best advantage.
As independent financial advisers our role is to build a partnership

We do not charge consultancy fees – if you wish to engage our services this
will always be on your terms and once you have had an opportunity to thoroughly
discuss your requirements with one of our appropriately qualified consultants.
Only after our consultant has thoroughly analysed your concerns and drafted
an in depth report outlining his proposed solutions will you need to make a
decision as to whether to make use of our services.
We are happy to take instruction from you at any time and the cost of our
services will be outlined within our reports and / or any accompanying
literature.
We will advise you on whether it is best for us to be remunerated via
commission or fees and we will fully explain the cost implications of
both, together with the standards of service against which we should
be judged.
